• I wish the lake still looked like this

This picture was taken just before the Army Corps of Engineers announced it was going to send massive amounts of water downstream.  Ironically the fishing gets better, but the scenery is not as aesthetic.  Also access to the lake becomes limited as more and more boat ramps close.  The good news--Captain Doug picks you up where docks are still in the water!

  • Time to use Trout

Fall is here and it is time to use Rainbow Trout to help hook the big ones.

  • They are biting even in "the turn"

"The turn" came early this year with recent cold fronts, but the fish are still biting.  "the turn" happens each fall and spring when the lake's surface temp rises or in this case falls.  Many think that the rotation of the water makes it muddy, but a biologist told us that it is actually metallics suspended in the water due to oxygen levels varying.

Fishing with Doug Dixon was what I would call a truly "First Class" experience.  On all 4 outings, his 24 foot center console boat was spotless, well organized and held me and my 2 guests very comfortably.  Doug is fully outfitted and all we had had to do was walk on the boat.  He's a true professional and a knowledgeable guide.  We caught several stripers over 10 pounds and had a blast.
